John Wessling is a

KSBY, WBTW, and
WNEP were dominant
number one stations during John’s tenure. Under John’s
watch, WNEP
achieved the highest-rated local newscast in the
country’s top one hundred markets; and . . . John
has also held producer and executive producer positions
in Norfolk and in Cincinnati.
Early in his career, John was a reporter in Cincinnati;
Columbus, Georgia; and Norfolk. In Columbus, John was a
consumer affairs reporter, and in Norfolk, he primarily
covered the military beat.
John is a native of Cincinnati. He has an undergraduate
degree in political science from Xavier University in
Cincinnati and a master’s degree in journalism from
Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Today, John is the president of RLT Communications,
Inc., writing, consulting, and speaking about television
news. RLT Communications’ services include professional
critiques of resume tapes and
teleconferences designed
to assist people breaking into the TV news business or
looking to advance their careers. John also publishes a
free ezine for people looking for TV jobs. He is the
